Headstone Installer

We are committed to ongoing care.

When you come to us for a headstone installation, we are here to help you through the process with kindness – and respect for your cultural traditions and boundaries.

Sanctuary Memorials understands that headstone installation can present challenges and that when unveiling approaches, it can bring up feelings of grief. Our installers are compassionate and professionally trained, and we can work around you to ensure that your headstone is ready for installation before the date you have set for the unveiling.

After your installation, your local team will be on hand for any required maintenance or refurbishment work, and we can assist you in adding further inscriptions.

Our Delivery Process

If you are coming to us for your headstone design, an initial consultation can be in person at our Auckland locations, online, or via email or phone—whatever suits you best. We will brainstorm with you and listen to your ideas, and then an artist will create a drawing for your approval. Once you feel we have captured your vision, we will pass the drawing to our expert stonemasons to begin construction.

The construction phase generally takes 6-8 weeks. During this time, we will work with you to proof any artwork, photographs, and inscriptions you want included. We will move forward with installation when you have viewed the completed work and are happy with all the elements.

Stones & Plaques Installed Outside Auckland

Sanctuary Memorials help families across New Zealand – and even across the globe – pay tribute to their loved ones with beautiful monuments. When you are completely satisfied with what we have created, your monument is shipped to our local team member in your region. The installer will be fully briefed on your and your family’s unique needs and made aware of the date set for the unveiling.

Our local team member then liaises with the family and the caretakers of the cemetery or Urupā to ensure the grave is prepared with adequate footing for the monument to be safely placed.

Ongoing Care & Maintenance

From installation forward, your local team member will take care of the monument for you. The family or the caretakers of the Urupā can contact the local team member if maintenance becomes necessary, and as subsequent names are added to the headstone, the local team member will be exclusively involved.

We try adding further inscriptions without removing your monument from its resting place; however, we understand this may not always be possible. Our goal is always to work within your cultural boundaries and align with council regulations throughout the installation, maintenance, refurbishment and inscription process.
